Join us and make a difference As the Centralized Maintenance and Services (CM&S) Maintenance Excellence Superintendent, you’ll lead a team of second-level supervisors and professionals who are committed to safely and reliably supporting assets across Eastman’s Tennessee Operations (TNO) manufacturing. You will use your advanced leadership abilities to drive safety, productivity, reliability, team development, and quality. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will prioritize team workload and drive continuous improvement. You will manage the interface between departments and boundary organizations including, but not limited to, Operations, Maintenance, business organizations, administrative areas, and support services. As a leader, you will coach your team members in leadership and behavioral competencies to deliver high-impact results. You will lead intentionally and continually build and improve organizational health to maximize employee engagement. You’ll serve as a member of the Eastman Management team and be an active member of CM&S Division Leadership Team. How you’ll help us innovate to build a better world Promote and develop a Zero Incident Mindset work environment Deliver sustainable improvement in key result areas: Reliability (production loss, maintenance cost); Turnarounds (safety, cost and schedule performance, playbook adherence); Work execution (Break-in %, schedule attainment) Provide strategic and forward-looking insights to TNO site and CM&S division for resource and cost planning Collaborate with Global Centers of Excellence and other Eastman sites to develop, improve, and implement M&R best practices and standard tools Ensure compliance with regulations and company policy Manage costs and budget Champion efforts to improve safety and productivity while reducing cost Lead, coach, mentor, and develop teams and direct reports (talent development) Exhibit high bias for action and drive for execution Establish priorities and objectives (with input from boundary organizations) and hold accountable to results. Responsible for driving the culture and health of the organization Develop strategy and ensure accountability for delivering departmental goals Qualifications
We would love to hear from people with (Qualifications) Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory or leadership experience Understanding of safe work practices; excellent safety history Leadership skills and experience, including safety awareness of staff, budget control, scheduling, prioritizing, goal setting, performance evaluations, and staff development General understanding of Engineering Standards and Specifications Knowledge of maintenance work practices (planning and scheduling, turnarounds, reliability, lubrication, work order handling, etc.) Excellent technical and problem-solving skills for mechanical design and failure analysis Excellent written & verbal communication skills Motivational skills, including the ability to influence and manage change and partner well with boundary organizations Ability to manage multiple projects with varied priorities and drive them to closure Familiarity with development and adjustment of standard operating procedures and implementing best practices within a manufacturing environment What will set you apart (Desired Competencies) 2+ years of experience leading 2nd level supervisors or above 7+ years of Maintenance experience, including leadership experience, in a petrochemical or chemical manufacturing environment Familiarity with mechanical integrity and asset integrity program management Advanced manufacturing knowledge Proficiency in using SAP Proven track record of raising standards each year to drive organizational excellence History of improving team performance and work practice through coaching Ability to consistently make sound and timely judgments in ambiguous environments Situational expertise with administering coaching in all directions Experience facilitating and resolving complex human resources issues Ownership and successful completion of complex and/or large-scale capital projects, including generation of scope and estimate, design of plant layout and piping, equipment design and procurement, and construction Familiarity with change management concepts Eastman Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer.
