Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with national A/E/C firms, architects, engineers, specifiers, and design‑build contractors to position the company’s products as standard solutions. Conduct best‑in‑class follow‑up with prospects and existing clients to nurture relationships and move opportunities through the sales pipeline.

Develop high quality specifications for design or future projects—starting with lunch and learn (L&L) or Arch lead (in‑person and virtual). Follow the project from L&L to post‑bid, ensuring our specifications are held, and the architect, specifier, and contractor sales team has support.

Secure project specifications by collaborating directly with architects, specifiers, and design professionals, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.

Track project pipelines and firm adoption trends, providing insight to guide long‑term strategic planning and product innovation.

Develop high quality relationships with the designers and specifiers at the firms.

Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to identify opportunities for product inclusion and defend against substitutions and value engineering risks.

Update CRM system with meeting notes, sales activities, and pipeline status. Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for management.

Schedule and coordinate upcoming travel, meetings, and presentations to maximize efficiency and coverage.

Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, customer service) to ensure seamless execution of business development and specification strategies.

Qualifications

5+ years working with architects, general contractors, and installers in building envelope or related construction products; continuous insulation experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of architectural design processes, CSI Master Format, and specification writing best practices.

Proven ability to influence both executive‑level decision‑makers and project‑level specifiers.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, marketing, business, or a related field preferred; CSI CDT/CCS certifications a plus; advanced training in building science, product marketing, or business development highly desirable.

Compensation

Base salary in the 115k–125k/year range, plus variable incentive/commission: 10%–25% of base tied to spec wins and project conversions.
