Compensation Grade: P25 Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 Annually Department Job Description: Responsibilities The Business Analyst II will join Wadsworth Center’s Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) team to bridge the gap between physical processes of the laboratory and the software components needed to support the evolving laboratory workflows. The Business Analyst II will be responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to the Wadsworth Center Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) Modernization Project team, proposing effective solutions to meet technical and business needs. The Business Analyst II will bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that the information technology delivered is designed with a strong focus on user experiences and organizational goals. While taking a human-centered design approach, the Business Analyst II will collaborate closely with end users and project stakeholders to define and prioritize project requirements for CLIMS functionality. The Business Analyst II will ensure that the new web-based application is designed with user needs and experiences at the forefront. Working in an Agile environment, this position will be responsible for developing user stories informed by user input; maintaining the product backlog; performing system testing and validation; fostering clear communication between stakeholders and the development team; and creating system and training documentation. The incumbent will work with laboratory subject matter experts to ensure clear, accurate descriptions of technical requirements. This position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center’s mission in the New York State Department of Health’s efforts to protect and promote the health of New York’s citizens. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience in system or business process analysis/improvement to support information systems; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Preferred Qualifications At least three years’ experience with Agile product ownership techniques and human-centered design methodologies. At least three years’ experience with data modeling, user interface (UI) design, and mock-up creation that prioritize user needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. At least two years’ experience with Mockito, UMLet (or similar UML tools), SQLDeveloper, and Jira. Prior experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Prior experience working on grant reports and deliverables. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
