Heavy Equipment Mechanic Salary Range: $41,091.00 - $77,045.00 DOE
Job Summary Diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls commercial trucks. Specialized vehicles - Log Trucks. Daily repairs and maintenance to include greasing, oil & filter changes.
Responsibilities
Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
Dismantles and assembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Operates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance.
Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
Fits bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul equipment.
Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
Examines parts for damage and excessive wear.
Job Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree or vocational school training.
Experience: 2-3 years of related experience.
Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, operation monitoring, operation and control.
Quality control analysis, critical thinking, equipment selection, complex problem solving.
Company Description Our family‑owned business has been in the log trucking industry for over 35 years, spanning three decades. We are currently seeking a senior diesel mechanic to join our team. We operate 12 late model KW log trucks and a dump truck, including a few ‘jewels’ that are used daily.
