About The Company Albertsons Companies is one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States, operating more than 2,200 stores across 34 states and the District of Columbia. We support our stores with 22 distribution centers and 19 manufacturing plants, and we are excited to offer this position supporting Safeway retail grocery stores in San Jose, CA.

What You Will Be Doing You will provide IT support to Safeway stores in and around San Jose, installing and troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems.

Main Responsibilities

Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway.

Repair all approved standard technology hardware, including PC/Server hardware, network hardware, RF hardware, and printers.

Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Install new hardware and software.

Provide IT support to customers and meet service level agreement goals.

Offer network and remote connectivity support.

Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.

Work with Support Center on problem assignments and support issues.

Collaborate with Corporate IT groups for on-site support and technology resolutions.

Adhere to repair standards and service level expectations.

Drive within the Zone Service Area.

What We Are Searching For

Excellent telephone, customer service and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to gather important information and resolve high‑pressure issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to present technical information clearly.

Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, and Windows/MS Office.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate within a matrixed organization.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including day, evening, night, and on‑call support.

Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow‑through.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred or 3+ years of technical/training/hardware certifications.

5+ years of technical systems experience and 2+ years of technical support.

2+ years of experience with retail store systems and technology hardware.

2+ years of experience installing and configuring desktop and peripheral technology.

Good, safe driving record and reliable vehicle required.

Physical Environment

Work may be performed in a temperature‑controlled environment.

Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

May spend long periods at a desk or computer terminal.

Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during a normal workday.

Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required.

Fast‑paced workday; some evening and weekend work may be required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment, with twisting and turning during installations.

Hourly range: $26.57 to $34.53. Starting salary will vary based on location, experience, and qualifications.
