We seek an energetic and collaborative Ophthalmic photographer cross‑trained for the Ophthalmic Check‑In Technician position. The Ophthalmic Photographer is primarily responsible for coordinating photography and diagnostic services and performing ophthalmic photography for diagnostic, documentation, and educational purposes in the clinic. Photography and diagnostic services include, but are not limited to, all Fundus cameras (standard and SLO), OCT machines, Clarus, Optos, Topcon, and the Heidelberg cameras at the main office and all satellite offices. Ophthalmic photographers must present a positive and professional image of the practice to patients.

Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture with FA/ICGCapture images for all physicians on all modalities (Clarus, Optos, Heidelberg, Topcon, and OCT).
Maintain the Forum Database to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date records.
Perform clinical ophthalmic photography and diagnostic imaging studies.
Consistently and accurately perform montage photos on all cameras.
Travel to satellite locations if needed.
Maintain efficiency within the imaging department and clinic.
Additional duties may be assigned under the direction of the Clinic Manager.
Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience as an Ophthalmic Check‑In Technician.
Certification in Retinal Angiography or certification eligible, with certification obtained within one year of employment.
Working knowledge of all ophthalmic terminology, spelling, and pronunciation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, physicians, management, and employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software applications.
Proficient in understanding, reading, and interpreting all contents of the paper and electronic medical charts (EMR).
Excellent organizational skills, multi‑tasking, and logical thinking.
Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and perform well in a fast‑paced, high‑volume practice.
Basic understanding of eye anatomy, medical terminology, ocular pathology, and common eye diseases.
Confidentiality Maintains strict confidentiality regarding protected health information (PHI) and understands and adheres to Tennessee Retina’s HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures.
Typical Physical and Working Demands The position requires prolonged periods of walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity are sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Employees must have an average hearing range and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
