Environmental Specialist
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to work on a large Infrastructure Project in the New York area.
Responsibilities
Engages in comprehensive field surveys, systematically gathering and analyzing pertinent data on an assigned project.
Performs geological, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry analyses.
Identifies and works to remediate project obstacles to ensure deliverables are met.
Develops comprehensive geological models through data analysis and interpretation.
Develops materials and completes reports on finished field work.
Prepares geologic reports and technical papers with expertise-level insight.
Assists in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates; solicits bids from subcontractors/suppliers.
May oversee lower-level Geologists to include reviewing geologic analyses, assessments, interpretations, and other types of reports.
May serve in an advisory capacity to senior management on specific geology-related matters.
May manage site investigation projects of varying size.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Skills and Competencies
Proficient in computer software applications, typically used in geological analyses (e.g., spreadsheets, CAD, aquifer test analysis, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of computer modeling to include mapping groundwater flow patterns
Proficient in understanding and applying geologic theories and practices
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
Effective organizational and time management skills
Effective skill interpreting and summarizing data to make recommendations
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to perform work duties independently and in team environments
Ability to monitor and guide the work of others
Working knowledge of related environmental rules and regulations
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field
5+ years of related work experience
Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) preferred
