Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County and Orange County communities for more than 50 years, providing education, support, and treatment for individuals and families living with mental health challenges, substance use issues, and developmental disabilities. Job Description WCMHS is seeking a compassionate and skilled clinician to provide therapeutic and case management services to youth with severe emotional and behavioral challenges within an integrated mental health treatment facility, at home, and in the community. The role includes delivering individual, family, and group psychotherapy, facilitating skill‑building sessions, and coordinating services through individualized treatment plans. The clinician will manage a caseload of up to 10 youth enrolled in the day treatment program, participate in monthly team meetings, and collaborate with schools, families, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Additional responsibilities include attending treatment planning meetings, providing consultation and training to school and Academy staff, completing clinical documentation promptly, and utilizing de‑escalation and physical intervention techniques as trained.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a human services field (required).

Clinical or licensure track as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical mental health counselor (preferred).

Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with colleagues and external partners.

Completion of specialized physical and verbal de‑escalation training.

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Experience with crisis de‑escalation and passive restraint techniques.

Provision of Handle With Care training as required.

Strong written and oral communication skills with timely documentation.

Commitment to the WCMHS mission and respect for individuals accessing services.

Compensation & Benefits This full‑time, exempt position offers an hourly wage of $28.97 and a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance, generous paid time off, employer‑sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
