Clinical Technologist Practitioner

Department of Medical Physics, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technologist position within the Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics section [RPIP] of Medical Physics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The section provides scientific and technical support to a range of clinical services within NHS Lothian & NHS Fife.

You should be qualified to SCQF level 9 in a physics, engineering or clinical technology discipline. Equivalence via qualifications supported by relevant technical experience and knowledge may also be considered. In particular experience or knowledge of radiation physics, imaging physics and medical devices is desirable. There is also opportunity to develop your skills. Training is given to meet the RCT Radiation Physics scope of practice. This includes an expectation of working towards a training portfolio and viva as part of IPEMs clinical technologist training scheme.

We are looking for candidates who are able to bring a friendly and positive approach to work. Who process good communication and organisational skills to work as part of a wider team. Working with high precision and maintaining accurate records to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the service.

The section has a clear focus on quality and patient/staff safety. You will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team supporting a range of clinical technical work related to ionising and non-ionising imaging equipment.
