Health Services Admin – Charge RN – Residential Youth Services
Location: Rockwood, TN
Job Type: Full-Time | Variable Schedule
Pay: $95,000 - $105,000
Schedule: Includes weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
About Youth Opportunity & Roane Youth Academy Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at‑risk youth. Roane Youth Academy in Rockwood, Tennessee, is a 56‑bed Youth Academy providing trauma‑informed residential care for boys ages 12 to 17. The center combines intensive mental health and sub‑acute psychiatric treatment with structured education, art, music, and recreation therapies, alongside medical and clinical services delivered 24/7 in small group living units.
Youth typically remain in care for 3 to 6 months for intensive mental health services (or 30 to 60 days for sub‑acute psychiatric treatment), participating in individual, family, and group therapy; social and life skills training; victim‑impact awareness; restorative justice programming; and pre‑vocational preparation. Programming is designed to support emotional stabilization, family engagement, and successful reintegration into home and community settings.

About the Role As the Health Services Admin – Charge RN, you will oversee the medical department and ensure high standards of care and compliance. You will lead the nursing team, coordinate youth health services, and support both daily operations and long‑term planning in the facility’s healthcare delivery system.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure accurate documentation and oversight
Ensure proper completion of youth admission and release health procedures, including screenings and assessments
Prepare and submit required medical reporting and statistics
Manage immunization compliance and ensure documentation is current
Deliver health‑related staff training on topics such as medication administration, universal precautions, seizure response, and communicable diseases
Support performance improvement by conducting periodic compliance reviews
Perform clerical and administrative duties to support care coordination and department efficiency
Other Duties Include
Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth
Participate in required training, development, and department budgeting
Report any inappropriate conduct or safety concerns involving staff or youth
Document and report all incidents involving physical force or unusual behavior
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
At least three years of professional RN experience
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred:
Experience working with youth in residential or behavioral health settings
Physical Demands
Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams
Other Requirements
Valid state driver’s license
Must meet state criminal background check requirements
Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed
