Overview
Radiology Technologist – Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital (Commitment Award BONUS). Join Baton Rouge General Medical Center to provide Interventional Pain Management services and radiographic exams in a multi-disciplinary team, aligned with BRRH mission, vision, and values. This role serves the patient population defined by the department's scope of service. Responsibilities
Performs radiologic procedures in accordance with unit-based standards of practice. Moves X-ray equipment into position and adjusts exposure factors (time, distance). Demonstrates knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols. Transfers, positions, and instructs patients regarding the procedure. Produces films of high technical quality and operates equipment to provide reliable data. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room following BRRH Safety Guidelines. Uses immobilization devices to obtain optimum views while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Assesses patient status data to identify age-specific health care needs and ensures procedures meet age-related requirements. Operates radiographic equipment safely and correctly. Performance Standards
Demonstrates compliance with radiation safety procedures and shields patients, staff, and visitors as appropriate. Uses monitoring devices correctly and adheres to room technique. Practices effective communication to enhance teamwork and quality of care. Explains procedures to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation. Recognizes adverse reactions and responds appropriately in coordination with staff and physicians. Demonstrates age-specific care awareness and communicates at an appropriate level for the patient’s age. Qualifications
Holds current Louisiana State license to perform as a radiographer. CPR Certified. Seniorities and Employment
