Base Pay Range $28.00/hr
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited program for practical or vocational nursing.
Current licensed practical nurse license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing and proof of completion of an approved medication administration course.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification including CPR and AED for Healthcare Professionals.
Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
Job Duties
Utilize knowledge and expertise to ensure nursing processes and systems are followed according to policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and scope of practice.
Perform patient care in a correctional setting with a focus on safety and error reduction.
Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and employees at all levels.
Collect and document data related to patients’ initial intake information, vital signs, treatments, and other pertinent information within scope of practice.
Administer and document medication following medication rights and reducing potential medical error.
Assist in examinations and perform select clinical tests such as urinalysis, urine culture, pregnancy tests, blood glucose monitoring, and strep test.
Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to medical records.
