Overview
Jonathan's Place is accepting applications for a weekend day/evening shift Direct Care Specialist for the RESET (Restoring and Educating Survivors to Empowerment and Transformation) Emergency Shelter. The Direct Care Specialist will be responsible for daily care and supervision of survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, ensuring resident safety through close supervision and frequent interaction. Friday 3:30pm-9:00pm, Saturday 3:30pm-10:30pm, Sunday 3:30pm-10:30pm. Saturday 7:00am-3:30pm, Sunday 7:00am-3:30pm, and Monday 3:30pm-9:00pm. Responsibilities
Engages in a trauma-informed model of programming to provide physical and emotional safety for residents. Supervises residents in various activities to observe and promote positive social behavior and changes in their social behavior. Models and teaches life skills to clients to help them develop interpersonal relationships and social skills. Observes methods/techniques of clinical staff and participates in treatment of residents through interaction, limit setting, and implementation of treatment plans; co-facilitates and participates in clinical groups. Administration of psychotropic medication and/or other prescribed medications. Monitors completion of daily hygiene routines and chores. Provides crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed. Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience working with children who have experienced trauma. Prior experience working with survivors of commercial sexual exploitation is preferred. Knowledge of child development and behavior management. Additional Details
