Verifies insurance eligibility via online resources or phone call when necessary and enters bundles in Avatar.
Updates Teletracking with any anticipated insurance impact and possible admissions.
Completes MSPQ with patient/family for all Medicare patients.
Scans patient’s insurance card and ID (front and back) and files appropriately.
Verifies all scanned information is under the correct episode and benefits.
Photographs patient, creates labels, and prints patient bracelets when applicable.
Ensures patient signs financial forms authorizing hospital billing.
Advises Financial Counselor of patients with financial responsibilities for partial hospital admissions.
Refers patients to Financial Counselor for guidance on co-pays, payment plans, or financial assistance applications.
Works with desktop computer programs: AVATAR, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teletracking, CERNER, PatientTrak, and digital camera.
Uses phone system and office equipment: PC, copier, fax, headset, Cyracom Language Line.
Schedule:
16/32 Part-Time Nights, every Friday & Saturday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
