Set your own schedule around your current job! This position will be a 1099 independent contract role. Fully remote if you reside in the United States. Paid per session as an independent contractor. Your expertise can change lives! Responsibilities

Provides individual and group interventions to support patients coping with health psychology presentations related to mental health diagnoses (e.g., sleep, pain, adherence to medical regimen, adjustment to illness), psychosocial stressors, grief or phase of life difficulties (e.g., discrimination, stress management, coping with loss, transition to civilian life), and mild-to-severe mental health presentations. Provides cognitive screening to address specific functional and/or cognitive ability questions. Provides immediate access to clinical assessment and appropriate collaborative care and treatment for those experiencing mental health symptoms or behavioral health issues. Provides additional individual and group interventions to support patients coping with health psychology presentations (e.g., sleep, pain, adherence to medical regimen, adjustment to illness), psychosocial stressors, grief or phase of life difficulties (e.g., discrimination, stress management, coping with loss, transition to civilian life), and mild-to-moderate mental health presentations. Provides cognitive screenings to address specific functional and/or cognitive ability questions as indicated. Must independently complete psychosocial assessments to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of the patient and their families. Must possess a working knowledge and experience in use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures including acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology. Follow suicide prevention guidelines and risk assessment documentation and training requirements. Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and includes pertinent information in all the required areas of functioning in order to determine appropriate diagnoses and other treatment-related conclusions. Provides DSM diagnoses to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and/or their families. Provides emergency/crisis interventions to stabilize patients, engages in rapid assessments, and develops crisis management plans. Provides psychotherapy as individual, group, and/or family interventions when clinically indicated and of therapeutic benefit. Maintains knowledge of veterans' benefits and services, community resources, and process for making appropriate referrals to community and other governmental programs or agencies. Provides case management services to patients and their families throughout the continuum of care. Adheres to client regulations regarding documentation and completion of encounters. Requirements

Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in ANY state; psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW. Psychologist: Must have PsyPact in addition to state license. Education: Depending on license type, must have either a master's degree in social work, counseling or related field from an accredited program or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program. Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience practicing therapy independently. Preferred experience: Experience providing therapy to veterans and military members. Experience providing consultation about mental health diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans to professionals representing a variety of disciplines, particularly concerning psychiatrically and medically complex patients. Familiarity with the full range of DSM-5 clinical presentations and experience with brief, evidence-based psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe presentations. General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment. General knowledge regarding Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and Serious Mental Illness (SMI); with skill and experience treating patients within a Veterans' Hospital PTSD and MHC setting and who may present with diverse mental health and behavioral health concerns and comorbidities. Assessment and intervention skills, with specialized experience in evidence-based treatment. Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of thorough risk assessment and mental health crisis procedures; able to lead interdisciplinary treatment teams in intervening during patient mental health crises. Experienced in one or more electronic health records (EHR). Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Must be a U.S. citizen and reside in the United States.
