Responsibilities
As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provide direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Prioritize and organize delivery of patient care under the supervision and delegation of an RN; accept a variety of assignments and consult with other disciplines as appropriate.
Assist in staff development activities.
Orient, instruct and train others, emphasizing departmental and interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork.
Demonstrate sensitivity to patients' comfort and privacy; support patients and families during times of stress or crisis.
Under the direction of an RN, contribute to patient assessment by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
May administer medication as directed by the Physician and RN.
Document patient care provided.
Assist the RN with development of the plan of care.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with the RN, physician, patient and families.
Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Current Utah LPN License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Ability to think critically, exercise decisive judgment, and work with minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
