Starlink Production Associate - 1st shift (Temporary)
Hawthorne, CA SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. The Starlink satellite constellation aims to provide reliable internet globally. We are seeking production associates/assemblers to help establish new manufacturing and test processes and ramp to full-scale production for the user terminal. The success of Starlink depends on quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products you deliver. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the development of prototype manufacturing and test capabilities Mechanical/electrical assembly of user terminal components, subassemblies, and final assembly according to instructions Operate light equipment such as drills, custom build tooling, crimpers, and presses Program, load, operate, and troubleshoot automated equipment Execute equipment maintenance and calibration schedules Assist engineers with development builds and other tasks Help develop and optimize production line stations and processes Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements Put safety as the number one priority POSITION DETAILS: LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months LOCATION: Hawthorne SHIFT: 1st shift – Mon-Fri 5:00am - 5:00pm BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience Ability to read and interpret drawings and controlled documentation (e.g., layout/mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, schematics, parts lists) Proficient in using a PC, Windows, and Microsoft Office Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience in electro-mechanical, precision, or high-volume manufacturing Experience with electrical wiring Electro-mechanical assembly and prototype development experience Experience setting up and running tests and experiments ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work 1st shift, overtime and/or weekends as needed (approx. 5:00am - 5:00pm) Standing for long periods; climbing ladders; bending; grasping; sitting; pulling/pushing; stooping; and stretching may be required Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Starlink Production Associate/Level 1: $22.00/hour; Level 2: $23.00 - $26.00/hour; Level 3: $25.00 - $28.50/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Base salary is part of a total rewards package including potential discretionary bonuses, comprehensive medical coverage, a 401(k) plan, and other perks.
