REPORTS TO:

School Psychologist Position Summary Education for Change is looking for a 2nd year School Psychology Practicum Student. They will be under the supervision of the School Psychologist; provide direct services at assigned schools; assist in the intervention process as a member of the Student Support Team; perform individual psychological observations, evaluations and assessments of referred students; explain the results of these evaluations to parents, teachers and students where appropriate; provide consultation to educational staff regarding behavioral issues; and perform other related work as required. This is a part-time position (2-3 days per week depending on hours needed). This role will follow a school-based calendar, dictated by candidate’s graduate program's calendar or hour requirements. Responsibilities: Consult and collaborate with educational staff regarding students with emotional, behavioral, cognitive and learning difficulties, in accordance with all directives, standards, procedures, policies, laws, rules, regulations, codes and guidelines Process referrals, perform observations, and administer evaluation instruments to individual students; Interpret, analyze, evaluate, document, track and report results of observations and assessments Support the completion of comprehensive and legally defensible psycho-educational assessments of specific learning, emotional and behavioral disabilities; interpret assessment findings for staff, families, and other authorized persons as necessary. Assist in the intervention process as a member of the Student Support Team Assist in the development of FBAs and BIPs for students and in the implementation of recommended courses of action Support and/or participate in manifestation determination team meetings Consult with teachers in the development and implementation of classroom methods and procedures designed to facilitate student learning and to overcome learning, social-emotional and behavior challenges Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary IEP team and present assessment findings during IEP meetings as appropriate Consult with parents and family members to assist in understanding the learning and adjustment processes of children Maintain accurate records and other required data, prepare and submit reports in a timely manner Maintain strict student and parent confidentiality Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 counseling support as needed Perform other related duties, as assigned Required Qualifications: Enrolled in a graduate school psychology program Preferred Qualifications: Spanish bilingual candidates in order to best meet the needs of our high EL population.
