The Radiologic Technologist / X-Ray Technician is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations. Responsibilities
Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, shielding, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs, and operating equipment for specific procedures. Gather relevant information from medical records, healthcare providers, and significant others to prepare protocols for scanning and ensure patient safety, based on patient needs or conditions. Follow ALARA principles to restrict radiation beams through proper collimation, ensuring safe care for all patients. Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Identify patient's images accurately with name and MRN#, and correctly mark images for the side of the patient taken. Process and reconstruct images using available methods. Maintain an orderly x-ray room, including ordering and maintaining supplies as directed by the department head. Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, record maintenance, and reception. Assist patients depending on their individual needs, including moving and positioning. Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and participate in overtime and on-call assignments as needed. Adhere to organizational policies, standards of behavior, attendance, and punctuality. Greet patients and perform daily clerical duties utilizing systems like EPIC, PACS, and Teletracking. Modify care delivery based on patient population needs, considering age, culture, language, and sensory impairments. Perform other duties or projects as assigned, adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Excellent communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Licenses and Certifications
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification. Diagnostic Radiography License. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) Certification. Working Conditions
