Process Engineer

Scope of Position As a Process Engineer, you will apply your knowledge of engineering principles to successfully execute technical assignments and projects. You’ll make independent decisions using sound engineering and scientific methods while collaborating across departments to resolve key process and product challenges. Your work will focus on enhancing manufacturing capabilities through innovative ideas and methods, with a clear goal of achieving department objectives and driving continuous improvement.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

Provide problem‑solving support to production operations on a daily basis.

Analyze process data to understand capability, monitor trends, and drive manufacturing excellence.

Identify and lead process improvement and cost‑reduction projects by applying the scientific method to develop, test, and validate hypotheses.

Prepare cost justifications and capital requests for new equipment purchases to meet project goals.

Collaborate with operators, team leaders, and peers to implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing operations.

Manage all aspects of new equipment integration, including financial justification, design, specification, purchasing, and project tracking.

Develop and implement documentation for equipment maintenance, operator training, and repair stocking levels.

Document all project details formally to ensure accuracy and traceability.

Support the transition of new cabling technologies, materials, or processes from development to production, ensuring repeatability and reliability in a manufacturing environment.

Ensure all production and maintenance documentation is completed, including MI’s, SOP’s, PM’s, and calibration procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical fields.

Experience:

Minimum of 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment.

Strong technical fundamentals and process engineering skills.

Creative and innovative problem‑solving abilities.

Results‑oriented mindset with a high level of commitment.

Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.

Strong collaboration skills across organizational boundaries to integrate solutions effectively.

Soft Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Engaging interpersonal skills – approachable and supportive.

Strong planning and organizational abilities.

Skilled at managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Ability to provide and receive coaching from peers and technicians.

Desired Skills

5+ years of experience in engineering or other technical fields.

Familiarity with statistical packages such as Minitab.

Experience with structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., DMAIC or PDCA).

Knowledge of plastic extrusion technologies, cabling processes, UV curable technologies, or similar areas.

Six Sigma Greenbelt certification or equivalent experience.

Project management experience including cost estimation, planning, and execution.

Experience programming PLCs in a manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirements

Less than 10%.

Work Hours

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional off‑shift support as needed.

The range for this position is $83,750.00–$115,156.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
