Position Overview Performs imaging / therapeutic services and patient care in support of the Radiology Department's mission to provide diagnostic information for patient treatment at WVU Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications Education, Certification, and Licensure
Completion of an Accredited Radiography School
Registered (or registry eligible) by the ARRT in Radiography. If eligible, must pass boards within 6 months (West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland) or one year (Pennsylvania).
Radiologist Technologist certification through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners or applicable state.
Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Background check as required by the state and federal regulations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Includes rotating through all diagnostic areas, performing imaging procedures, ensuring image quality, minimizing radiation exposure, patient assessment and support, preparing contrast agents, patient education, teamwork, equipment reporting, completing training, patient positioning, and supervising radiology students.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Ability to differentiate shades of gray on imaging monitors.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Wear lead aprons weighing 8-15 pounds.
Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
Operate imaging equipment with moving parts.
Skills and Abilities
Positive interaction with patients and team members.
Prioritization and multitasking skills.
Adaptability in positioning and equipment manipulation under challenging conditions.
