is searching for a QC Lab Tech to join our team. The QC Lab tech will be involved in first article inspections, QC Special Studies, Root of Cause analysis, Performing Statistical Analysis if it is necessary, perform investigation of quality issues on parts and assist in the calibrations of measuring and test equipment. This person must be able to interpret part drawings according to ASME Y14.5 2009 standard This person also must be able to effectively communicate vital information to various personnel throughout the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct first article inspections on new and revised parts and assemblies using various precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with both standard and tight tolerances, as well as visual requirements.

Prepare and submit detailed First Article Inspection (FAI) reports using the SharePoint database, ensuring all findings are reviewed by the Quality Control Supervisor.

Perform Quality Control Special Studies inspections on a variety of parts and assemblies by following specific instructions and utilizing appropriate precision inspection tools.

Generate comprehensive Quality Control Special Study reports using software such as Microsoft Excel and Windows Paint; conduct statistical analyses when necessary and submit reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Support the calibration process for inspection instruments, including precision master rings and custom internal gauges; assist in maintaining accurate calibration records for torque wrenches, scales, calipers, and other measuring devices.

Participate in quality investigations to help identify root causes of part and assembly defects or nonconformances.

Maintain a clean, organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles and uphold all safety and quality standards.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required to support the overall operation and efficiency of the department and organization.

ADA Requirements:

Ability to sit for approximately 80% and stand for approximately 20% of the workday.

Capable of filing, writing, using computers and hand tools, and operating a telephone.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control with a strong focus on dimensional measurement and evaluation.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in interpreting technical part drawings and skilled in using a wide range of inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, form tracers, portable CMMs, vision systems, Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers, and various precision gauges.

Experienced in creating part programs and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), both in manual and automated modes; familiarity with

PC-DMIS

software is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Knowledge of trigonometry and

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

is a strong asset.

Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
