Meharry Medical College A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Physiology at Meharry Medical College to study HIV-1 biology. Research will focus on HIV-1 restriction and evasion. The successful applicant will join our lab that uses integrated virologic, biochemical, and genetic approaches to understand HIV-1 replication and transmission. Qualifications: PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related fields Previous virology experience and BSL-3 training preferred Experience with human primary cells (macrophages and CD4+ T cells) preferred Responsibilities: Design and plan research in consultation with the PI Perform experiments independently Analyze and interpret results Prepare presentations, reports, and publications Collaborate with lab members and external partners Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills: Knowledge of research principles and methodologies Operation and maintenance of lab equipment Ability to perform experiments efficiently and safely handle biohazardous materials Strong communication and teamwork skills Education and Experience: PhD in biomedical sciences with an excellent research record, publications required Skills in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, microscopy, and virology preferred Additional Details: Seniority level: Internship Employment type: Full-time Job function: Research, Analysis, IT Industry: Higher Education This job posting appears to be active and not expired.
