Responsible for the clinical, medication, and charge capture aspects of the pharmacy information system, the integrated electronic health record, and the inpatient and outpatient prescriber order entry systems. Develops, designs, implements and manages a pharmacology informatics program using automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practices and systems. Maintains and optimizes the facility drug file, Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). Designs the system that is user-friendly and that the User Interface layer presents content, format and navigation in a logical, useful and efficient manner for clinical use. Responsible for evaluating, guiding, implementing, and building data systems that support pharmacy departments. Develops, implements, integrates, and maintains automation and technology to ensure safe and appropriate use of medication. Evaluates health information systems and implements improvements as it relates to medication errors. Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems. Evaluates medication use patterns and outcomes for patients with improvement plans. Provides ongoing training to clinical staff on current software applications and new features, and conducts training for new users. Troubleshoots and works with the appropriate teams to develop resolution for issues that are identified within RPMS/EHR. Performs administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for the pharmacy program. Researches medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate drug entry. Is able to integrate various informatics pharmacy systems to create ease of use for end users and to facilitate and carry out the mission of the Pharmacy Department. Prepares policies and procedures for RPMS/EHR system usage where applicable. Fulfill position as 80% admin/CAC duties and 20% clinical staffing. Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in pharmacy practice, including three (3) years in the hospital setting. Education: Completion of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. Must maintain an active, unrestricted Pharmacy License in any U.S. State or Territory by completing necessary Board of Pharmacy requirements for the respective state of licensing.
