Patient Access Rep

Brown University Health . The Patient Access Rep works as a member of a team assigned to perform front desk functions, client registration, and the collection of information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services.
Responsibilities
Act as a receptionist greeting all clients and visitors.
Make appointments and reminder calls for multiple providers.
Maintain front desk schedules and perform daily preparation activities.
Collect necessary information such as income verification, voter registration, current care registration, demo updates.
Register new clients; gather necessary paperwork and electronically open case at admission.
Verify benefits with insurance carriers and enter the information into CMHC.
Obtain and monitor authorizations and reimbursement processes.
Maintain specific client data electronically (current care #, records, co‑pay information, electronically enter cash receipt).
Participate in the development of procedures to enhance current practices.
Process reports for specific data.
Perform light secretarial duties and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one‑year experience working with third‑party payers and/or one‑year support experience in a human service office environment.
Must be comfortable working in a computer environment.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Moderate mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Demonstrated skill in use of spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications.
Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with all external contacts.
Physical/Environmental Demands Minimum physical exertion; may involve light lifting.
Pay Range $17.77 – $29.31
