Description
This is a 12-hour shift three days each week, with the shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30, totaling 36 hours per week. Respiratory Therapist with Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and 2 professional references. The all-inclusive hourly non-local pay rate for this position is $75.34/hr, comprising a taxable component of $60.51/hr and a per diem of $14.83/hr.

Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist Rhode Island state license
Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
Five years of work experience as Respiratory Therapist
One year of EMR experience
Board Certified

Responsibilities Primary Function
Provide respiratory care and assist with the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for a range of cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders
Candidate must have a current RI License and hold either CRT or RRT certifications
Current BLS required
Perform respiratory therapy treatments according to physician orders, including aerosol medication delivery, lung expansion and airway clearance modalities, maintenance of airways, care planning, and patient education
Obtain arterial blood from the radial artery for blood gas analysis; interpret results and recommend appropriate treatment to the physician
Provide ventilator management, including initiation, maintenance, monitoring, assessment, and participation in rounds and liberation
Perform nasal, oral, and pharyngeal suctioning
Provide rapid response assessment and emergency care, including airway management, CPR, trauma care, manual and mechanical ventilation, and oxygenation support
Provide support and monitoring for patient transport within the hospital and to other hospitals using portable ventilators and related equipment
Set up and administer oxygen using various devices
Perform charges, record keeping, and equipment changes and reprocessing as required
Record pertinent information in the patient’s medical record regarding therapy provided, medications administered, and patient response
Provide handoffs to oncoming staff to ensure safe patient care
Provide patient and family education to assist in self-care and care transitions
Train employees and students in day-to-day procedures
May be responsible for overseeing and prioritizing care in the absence of a supervisor
Performs other related duties as assigned
