Overview Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for a Lecturer / Assistant Teaching Professor of Business to start Fall 2025, or as negotiated. This is a non-tenure-line, term, 36-week appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-appointment.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will teach four introductory/ advanced courses in Economics, Business Analytics, and Finance per semester, and a possible International Business course. Possessing advanced Financial Certification is a plus.

The expectation is that the successful applicant will use traditional, hybrid, and online delivery methods as needed, and teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, and/or Saturday classes as needed.

Additional responsibilities

Advise students and provide career guidance

Participate in campus, university, and community service activities

Collaborate in the recruitment and retention of business students

Participation in professional organizations and in course development

Engaging in scholarly, professional development and activities to stay current in the discipline is also expected

Qualifications Successful candidate should have earned a master's degree in economics, finance, or a closely related field at a minimum to be considered for the rank of Lecturer, a doctorate (preferred) to be considered for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Significant industry and prior college-level teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial environment with faculty and administration is required. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
