Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) partners with operations to keep packaging and distribution equipment running efficiently. We are looking for a Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to lead service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, support the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems, manage projects, and mentor technicians. Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the building Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, and related components Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used Maintain positive working relationships across all Amazon Operations facilities Develop training plans for service technicians Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets Move up to 49 lbs and stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation Shift Information
The following are typical shifts for the Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician role. Shift assignments are subject to operational requirements and scheduling constraints and cannot be guaranteed in advance. Front Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example pattern: Sunday to Wednesday. 10-hour shift examples: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (including a 30-minute break) Back Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example: Wednesday to Saturday. Daytime hours, e.g., 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (30-minute break) Front Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example: Sunday to Wednesday. Night hours, e.g., 6:00 PM–4:30 AM (30-minute break) Back Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example: Wednesday to Saturday. Night hours, e.g., 7:00 PM–5:30 AM (30-minute break) Basic Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience Willingness to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays 4+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures 4+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment 4+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics 4+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience 3+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) Preferred Qualifications
Associates or higher degree in Mechanical or Electrical field 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical field Experience in a shift lead capacity that supports, trains, and mentors technicians Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output for building operations Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Continuous improvement mindset; willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME Experience coordinating complex maintenance activities with multiple stakeholders (Operations, Safety, etc.) 4+ years of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles 2+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls systems 2+ years of experience with robotic operation and maintenance Project management experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $105,600/year in our highest geographic market.
