We love to promote from within ! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FITTER / FABRICATOR 5 or more years of work experience in an AISC, AWS, ASME, API fabrication environment. Must be willing to learn and apply fit up techniques and welding in a code driven shop. Must have exceptional knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel Knowledge of AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code is preferred. Ability to understand a project's welding requirements in order to correctly select & utilize a welding process. Exceptional welding ability using processes of: SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and GTAW. Ability to pass welder performance qualifications in all positions. Exceptional knowledge of fitting, fixturing and fabrication processes. Advanced knowledge of set-up and operation of fabrication equipment (i.e.: press brakes, shears, ironworkers, drill presses/magnetic drills, oxyfuel & plasma burning equipment, etc.). Ability to interpret, understand and provide instruction to self and welders/welders' helpers per a given welding procedure specification (WPS). Strong ability to read blueprints and engineering fabrication drawings. High School diploma or equivalent required; 2-year post-secondary education at Technical or Trade School preferred. SAFETY This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor. CONFIDENTIALTY Some positions with the company will have access to confidential and proprietary information.
