SCR Civil Construction LLC
is currently seeking a
Foreman
for the Texas area. As a Foreman, you will be directly responsible for all aspects of a project, including managing a 6 – 8 man crew to complete daily activities on roadway, highway, and heavy highway projects. This position requires travel depending on the location of the project.
SCR

Responsibilities
Hiring and developing a lead man
Hiring, developing and training crew
Organizes and plans daily work activities with GS or DO to ensure the most profitable sequence is followed and to discuss the best means and methods.
Manages a crew of 6-8 skilled and non-skilled employees
Directly supervises and coordinates daily operations with the assistance of the GS on assigned projects to ensure that proper resources (labor, material, equipment) are in place for timely completion of work.
Assist with scheduling and supervising subcontractors on assigned projects.
Promotes and complies with all company safety policies and procedures.
Promotes and complies with all company rules, regulations and procedures.
Reviews contract plans, specifications, and project documentation to ensure that the project is completed using the correct specifications, standards and to the satisfaction of the owner.
Assumes responsibility of the crews performance as it relates to company and project goals, safety audits, and compliance with policies and procedures. Takes corrective and / or disciplinary actions to address deficiencies and policy violations.
Monitors quality of work daily for both company crew and subcontractors.
Performs jobsite orientations and mentoring for new crew members
Assist with the responsibility for project equipment utilization and maintenance.
Coordinates equipment needs with GS or DO
Assist with ensuring that all operators are properly trained or qualified.
Responsible for completing daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings to promote a safe work site.
Prepares and submits weekly time sheets for labor.
Prepares and submits daily progress reports that detail all work completed and cost accrued for the day.
Assist with reviews of daily work completed with onsite customer representative.
Assist with reviews of monthly pay applications for accuracy
Prepares and submits accident and / or injury reports.
Perform other administrative or field tasks as assigned by GS or DO
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
A minimum of 2 years as a Project Foreman or Superintendent
Familiarity with equipment, materials and methods used in the construction industry
Highway Construction and Maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively to convey information
Ability to read and understand project specific documents including plans, specifications, material data sheets, safety data sheets, and other pertinent project information.
Ability to organize records and prepare work and time reports
Ability to understand and efficiently follow directions
Ability to work under pressure and within established timelines.
Ability to work with management to resolve any issues that arise on a project.
Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
Must be accustomed to working outdoors and in all weather conditions
Must be able to perform physical activities that may require climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending and handling materials, equipment and tools.
Must wear appropriate safety equipment as required by company safety policies.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and e-verify
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing and able to travel and work out of town.
