Hexcel is currently seeking a
Process Engineer
for our
Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Fibers
location.
The selected individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Design, implement, and operate mechanical and electromechanical systems used for manufacturing carbon fiber.
Evaluate carbon fiber processing conditions and material properties, troubleshoot as necessary using SPC techniques, and manage process conditions to meet Process Control Document requirements.
Identify and pursue process improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs.
Use cross-functional teams and tools such as DMAIC and DOE to solve problems.
Develop and implement processing conditions for new equipment and materials.
Manage qualification efforts for new equipment, processes, and materials, and train operations personnel as needed.
Provide disposition for nonconforming products and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Mentor and train the Process Engineering team.
Interface with customers and provide support as needed.
Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing or continuous process industries preferred.
Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma programs.
Experience with SPC and statistical techniques.
Knowledge of SQL, Python, PowerBI, or similar data analysis software.
