Clair Global Integration is growing and looking to add a
Video and Broadcast Engineer
to their team. The Video and Broadcast Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning Broadcast and Video Production systems for a wide variety of applications and client venues. Candidates should have extensive design, engineering and broadcast experience. The role includes coordination with the Clair Engineering team as well as working closely with Clair's clients and industry manufacturers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design, engineer, program and integrate large scale broadcast and video production systems designed to meet the specific needs of the client.
Develop design and engineering drawings using AutoCAD software.
Perform engineering calculations for broadcast and video production system designs.
Develop documentation and test criteria that thoroughly describe and meet performance specification systems of all aspects of the intended design.
Develop a bill of material to work with Clair's purchasing staff to ensure the correct parts are ordered and received on schedule.
Work with Clair's fabrication staff to provide direction when needed during the fabrication process.
Develop the configuration, routing and control software for the video production systems following Clair's programming processes and procedures.
Prepare the system equipment for the factory acceptance testing which is performed prior to delivery to site.
Work onsite to test, verify, and commission the video and broadcast systems and perform the acceptance testing and end-user training.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
Strong technical skills in audio, video, lighting, broadcast, and video production
Firsthand knowledge of compliance to industry recognized standards, performance specifications, local AHJ standards and code compliance
Excellent relationship skills are required to maintain positive relations with clientele
Strong documentation, communication, organization, and time management skills
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other industry software
Experience with assembly of broadcast panels, custom JBT's, and all types of racks
Experience with broadcasting protocols and video transport mediums
Ability to read and understand design and engineering drawings including: (Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Lighting, Audio/Video, Broadcast, Electronic Controls)
Ability to work to deadlines in high-pressure situations
Ability to plan strategically and must have a strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing, in person, and over the phone in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work on a team, maintain a positive attitude, and be open to learning
Must excel in a fast-paced, demanding, and continuously changing environment
While the position does not have direct reports, the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of team members is required
Should be comfortable with taking initiative
Must have excellent attention to detail
Passion for Video Production and Broadcast market space
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) plus years of broadcast and video production integration or operation experience
Firsthand experience and/or exposure to managing integration projects above $5 mil in value
University Level Degree in one of the following: Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management, Liberal Arts - Theater
Experience in project and product development
Knowledge of general engineering practices
Familiarity with manufacturing processes
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Develop project scope, timelines, and project status reports
Maintain accurate project information and specifications
Prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
Develop documentation for new design and integration projects
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams including personnel in Engineering, Fabrication, Installation, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, Training, and Finance
Work with workshop and installation staff to deploy systems optimally for a wide range of applications
Think creatively to advance technology to find new ways of solving problems
Lead training efforts
