Responsibilities
Supervises and directs the daily activities on the nursing unit; oversees coordination of care in collaboration with other health care professionals. Conducts quality, safety, experience and leader rounding. Manages staffing, scheduling, supply management, and advancements of ILOS. Mentors new graduate RNs, provides just-in-time education, and deploys evidence-based practice and clinical program advancement. May be required to participate in on-call status. Qualifications
Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher. BSN preferred Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma RN experience working in the specialty area(s) identified is preferred. Responsibilities (continued)
Develop and implement staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff. Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems; participate in patient and safety rounding and provide real time feedback to staff. Assist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities. Provide for immediate follow-up, documentation and communication of incidents to appropriate manager and director. Anticipate actual/potential problems on the shift and set shift priorities accordingly. Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner. Provide support, guidance and feedback to staff; give ongoing timely feedback, both verbal and written anecdotes, to staff on performance. Written anecdotes are passed on to the nurse manager or director to be used as part of performance evaluation. Assist staff to provide a safe work environment for patient care. Assist in the preparation and implementation of the department’s annual goals. Follow established safety and infection control procedures and intervene in unsafe situations. Manage the delivery and documentation of patient care, including assessment/re-assessments, plan of care development, interventions, and evaluation. Report to assigned Manager. Note: This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements; consult risk management for details. Potential for exposure to infections, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals; follow standard precautions. Maintain operational knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance for IACC program certifying and governing agencies. Shared on-call responsibilities as required for program operations. Participate in optimization of IACC program workflows, operational efficiencies, and clinical quality initiatives. Participate in program development opportunities related to marketing and outreach (including outreach clinics).
