Overview

Blackhawk Technical College is currently seeking to engage Part-time Nursing Instructors for our Associate Degree of Nursing Program. Class assignments and locations may vary from term to term, and instructors may be asked to teach at various clinical sites within the district. Responsibilities

Provide instruction for assigned classes, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical components, with accountability to the entire program. Offer on-site office hours during clinical, classroom, and laboratory times. Stay current with industry needs to ensure graduate outcomes meet workplace expectations. Engage in ongoing student learning assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum. Create a respectful classroom/lab environment that values diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism. Maintain accurate student records and reports as required by administrative offices and state regulations. Identify students needing assistance, refer them to Student Services, and collaborate with staff to support student adjustment. Keep current with developments in teaching methods, incorporating the latest technology and alternative delivery methods to accommodate various learning styles. Ensure course curricula adhere to state guidelines. Prepare and update course syllabi following BTC guidelines and coordinate with other departments and programs as needed. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and enrollment in a Master’s of Nursing program with anticipated completion within 12 months. At least two years (4,000 hours) of nursing experience, with a minimum of one year (2,000 hours) within the five years prior to appointment; one year of nursing experience may be waived if the candidate has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in nursing within five years prior to appointment. Current or eligible Wisconsin license to practice as an R.N., unencumbered, by the employment start date. Meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification. Experience working with culturally diverse populations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Two years of teaching experience (full or part-time) in nursing. Ability to adapt to multiple learning styles. Experience with online or hybrid course delivery and other instructional technologies.
