Job Title: Research Faculty - Psychiatry & Behavioral Health (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
Department: Medicine | Psychiatry
Responsibilities
Serve as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and original research projects in Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Health.
Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to obtain funding; secure and maintain NIH RO1 or equivalent funding.
Write and publish research in peer-reviewed journals; present research at national and international conferences; develop national and international scholarly reputation.
Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees.
Participate in division, department, college, and university committees and initiatives.
Qualifications and Faculty Definition Faculty Defined
Clinical faculty
(titles: assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, professor-clinical) with MD, PhD, or terminal degree. Not eligible for tenure; appointed for three to five-year terms. May include teaching, clinical care, and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty
(titles: assistant professor, associate professor, professor) eligible for tenure or already tenured. Primary focus on research, service, and teaching. MD or MD/PhD holders may also be involved in clinical care.
Research Faculty
(titles: research assistant professor, research associate professor, research professor) with PhD or other terminal degree. Not eligible for tenure; appointed for one to five years; primary focus on research.
