The UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Mathematics invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor position. This is an initial term of three years and renewable upon review. The posting describes a role that includes teaching undergraduate math courses (including calculus in large-enrollment settings), coordinating courses, and performing administrative duties to support teaching. Responsibilities

Teach and design undergraduate mathematics courses, including calculus in large-enrollment settings. Serve as a course coordinator to manage a team of faculty and graduate student TAs. Perform administrative duties to support teaching (e.g., managing placement testing, supervising undergraduate classroom assistants). Collaborate with other faculty engaged in teaching initiatives within the department. Minimum Education and Experience

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics, math education, or a closely related field is required. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Demonstrated knowledge of scholarship in science teaching and learning. Experience teaching at the college level. Experience in curriculum design. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities. Special Instructions
