Job Summary and Responsibilities 4-10 hr shifts variable days. The Staff Radiologic Technologist Specialist performs departmental and portable radiographic examinations, assists the Radiologist or Surgeon in a highly technical and professional manner during procedures, produces high quality images. Serves the following age – specific patient populations: pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Uses two patient identifiers

Compares doctor’s order to requisition for accuracy

Perform the correct exam

Includes all anatomy required to produce an adequate exam

Demonstrate continued competency in using PACS

Routinely demonstrate the ability to prioritize workload

Coordinate multiple exams into the proper sequence to ensure no conflicts of exams

Assess the doctor’s order and the patient’s diagnosis to determine optimal images

Assess patient’s condition, comfort, and safety during procedures

Observe and report to physician any change in patient’s condition during the procedure

Communicate accurate patient information in a timely manner to peers, physicians, and other departments

Use all diagnostic, computer, and communication equipment within safe limits

Other duties as assigned by management

Proficient at running C-Arm for complicated orthopedic and neuro surgery cases

Proficient at running the O-Arm for Neuro and Spine surgeries

Proficient with workflow in the OR. Able to carry the main surgery pager to organize and prioritize staff responses to surgery cases

Willing and able to train other radiologic technologist staff, as needed to operate C-Arm and O-Arm for complicated orthopedic cases

Job Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Radiology program

For currently employed student technologists, within 60 days of graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Registered/registry eligible

Must be registered within 1 year of hiring

Pay Range $24.27 - $36.10 /hour
