The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic cardiologist with a clinical or translational research program in cardiac inflammation to join the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible cardiac inflammation physician/physician-scientist with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to join the team as an assistant, associate, or full professor. The successful candidate will focus on leading the Cardiac Inflammation Program, building research across cardiovascular disease disciplines, and providing routine and complex cardiovascular care, including inpatient and outpatient consultative and primary services in a world-class facility at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both the basic, translational, and clinical research settings.
Requirements
Board Eligible/Certified
Successful completion of a US-accredited cardiology fellowship
Eligible for an Ohio License
Clinical or Translational Extramurally funded research preferred
Qualified for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine The Division comprises over 60 cardiologists with focus areas including general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. It is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which is consistently recognized for excellence in care and research.
Faculty Types
Clinical faculty (any rank)
– Titles include assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. Primarily focused on clinical care, with possible teaching and research; tenure is not available.
Tenure-Track faculty (any rank)
– Titles include assistant/associate/full professor eligible for/holding tenure. Primary focus is research, service, and teaching; clinical care may be included for MD/DO applicants.
Research Faculty
– Titles include research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. Principal career focus is research; tenure not available.
