The
Department of Radiation Medicine at Northwell Health
seeks a board-certified radiation oncologist as
Vice Chair of Brachytherapy
within the department of Radiation Medicine. This is a clinical leadership position to build upon an established brachytherapy program across the Northwell Health System. The department, with nine clinical locations throughout the NY metro area, has six HDR after-loaders, a strong LDR program, and a full spectrum of brachytherapy cases, including intravascular brachytherapy. This opportunity is to lead the service, develop a system standard of care, and create a program around brachytherapy that integrates with multidisciplinary disease programs within the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. The role involves developing research protocols, industry relationships, and educating future leaders in brachytherapy. The
Department of Radiation Medicine
is one of the largest in the NY metro area, treating over 275 patients daily. Its residency program is ranked second in NY State by Doximity. The department is recognized for its safety culture centered around Smarter Radiation Oncology. Candidates should have a background in brachytherapy and seek a leadership role to drive strategic growth. A minimum of five years’ experience, preferably at the Associate or Professor level, is required. The role includes clinical practice in Nassau County, NY, and administrative responsibilities across the system to develop brachytherapy strategies for clinical growth, research, and education. The department is part of the
Northwell Health Cancer Institute , which treats more than 16,000 cancer patients annually, supported by over 200 physicians across 25+ sub-specialties. The
