Speech Language Pathologist (Pediatric) - Full Time - Day Shift - Detroit/Dearbo

Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologists (SLP) with certification by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Michigan license provide clinical services to children with speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing/feeding disorders. Services include evaluation, therapy and follow‑up care.
Candidate should have experience working with children on the autism spectrum. Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary autism and developmental disorders clinic is preferred. Experience with augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) devices is desired.
This Full‑Time position will split time between locations in Detroit and Dearborn.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides clinical speech‑language pathology services to Henry Ford Health pediatric patients including:
Consultation with patients, family, and Henry Ford Health staff about communication and swallowing disorders Diagnosis of speech, language or swallowing disorders and evaluation of patient condition and prognosis Development of treatment/therapy programs for patients Scheduling and conducting patient follow‑up visits
Operates clinical equipment to measure speech production characteristics during patient evaluations and treatment Teaches patients to utilize technology and effectively develop their communication skills Participates in all phases of departmental education and research programs, including program development and clinical fellow orientation and instruction Supervises the activities of departmental graduate students and clinical fellows, including work scheduling, motivation, performance appraisal and day‑to‑day work duties Represents the institution at community, regional and national conferences Educates local community and social organizations on programs available at Henry Ford Health Performs other related duties as assigned or requested EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year One year of experience in a clinical setting required Experience working with children with speech and language delays and disorders, including those on the autism spectrum, is preferred LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
