Overview
Pelvic Health Physical Therapist at University of Georgia (UGA). Primary focus is treating patients with pelvic dysfunction and other musculoskeletal disorders. Works with individuals across all ages and genders to address urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive physical therapy care.
Duties/Responsibilities
Practices safe, effective, and appropriate Physical Therapy care in accordance with UHC protocols, policies, and Georgia State Board regulations.
Evaluates and treats patients based on evidence-based Physical Therapy practice; develops individualized treatment plans.
Provides education and treatment plans; supports ongoing care and patient goals; documents encounters thoroughly in EMR.
Uses motivational interviewing and patient education to promote adherence, resilience, and wellness; collaborates with prescribing physicians as needed.
Completes other duties and treatments as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Clinical skills aligned with patient care demands; effective communication and teamwork.
Trauma-informed care training is preferred.
Physical Demands Repetitive standing, bending, stooping, sitting, lifting, and patient handling as required.
Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact Human Resources for evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the minimum.
Preferred Qualifications:
UHC Minimum: Active Physical Therapy license in Georgia in good standing; at least a baccalaureate degree; AHA HealthCare Provider BLS; pelvic rehabilitation level 1.
UHC Preferred: Master’s or Doctorate; pelvic rehabilitation experience; orthopedics/outpatient experience; two years of experience preferred.
Experience with electronic practice management and health records; board or specialty certifications (e.g., Orthopedics, Sports, Women’s, Pelvic, Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, Vestibular, Aquatics) preferred.
Position Details
Percentage of Time: 70%
Location: Athens Area
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Employment Type: Full Time

Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
