Equine and Small Animal Veterinary Technician (CARE)
Job Description: The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals at World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala provides Small Animal primary care and urgent care services and Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging.
The Veterinary Technician I/II (CARE) assists clinicians with equine and small animal examinations, treatments, and hospitalization nursing care. Candidates should have horse handling skills, a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
Assist clinicians with examinations, treatments, and nursing care in equine and small animal patients.
Support 24/7 hospital coverage with varying shift lengths (8-10 hours) and potential holidays/on-call duties.
May assist in other hospital areas based on patient care needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Technician I: High school diploma and two years of veterinary experience, or one year of veterinary experience with enrollment in a veterinary technician program, or graduate of a veterinary technician program.
Technician II: Credentialed veterinary technician and four years of veterinary experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Horse handling skills and experience

Expected Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 hourly
