Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT) - Oceana County Position Purpose: Great opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT) professional to work in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person, physically, emotionally and spiritually! Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description
Performs laboratory procedures according to protocols consistent with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Conducts a variety of chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic and diagnostic laboratory tests to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorder, bodily dysfunction and evaluation of patient response to treatment. Analyzes and documents test results and reports clinical findings. Performs incidental specimen procurement, preparation and processing. Performs tests in the sections of Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank. Responsibilities
Receives specimens, clarifies test requests, checks specimen integrity/labeling. Organizes, prepares and processes specimens. Operates, calibrates, maintains equipment and participates in quality control activities to ensure the accuracy of lab results. Works independently in assigned departments within the laboratory. Performs testing, evaluates results, solves problems, documents results and communicates reports as needed. Performs specimen collection duties. Minimum Qualifications
Associates/Bachelor of Science degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology. National Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician - ASCP, AMT Our Commitment
