The Pharmacy Clerk first and foremost is responsible for guest satisfaction. He/She is responsible to the company for the efficient, safe, effective operation of certain tasks within the Pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests who enter the area or department
Provide guest service and help build a reputation for ultimate guest service
Handle Point of Sale transactions for prescriptions sold to guests
Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records
Assist with guest charge and delivery records
Sell Nonprescription drugs in their original containers
Stock and clean pharmacy shelves
Label and put orders away
Order pharmacy stock
Mail prescriptions
Perform other duties as assigned by management
May not perform duties expressly outlined by the State Board of Pharmacy for a registered technician or technician trainee
Key Requirements
High school diploma (GED) or actively obtaining one within two years
HIPAA certification (upon hire, obtainable through United Family Learning)
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and some holidays as required
Experience in retail pharmacy is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physical ability to perform bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, standing and walking for 8-12 hour periods
Ability to function as a team member
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
