Schedule and Compensation Monday – Friday TBD either 6:00 am – 2:30 pm or 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
The annual salary for this position is $52,700 to $82,600, DOE
Sign On Bonus – $2,000
Location This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver, WA Facility.
What you’ll do This position will be responsible for assisting and performing specialized and routine laboratory examinations and procedures.
Essential Functions
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
Perform routine testing of samples for HPLC, GC, LCMS or ICPMS in a timely, accurate manner. Work with the lab supervisor to determine priority of samples before performing the following:
Solution preparation
Sample extraction
Instrument setup
Data processing
Result entry into LIMS
Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoots issues.
Perform secondary review of data.
Prepare reports and summarize large amounts of data using Excel, instrument software and LIMS.
Use Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in all laboratory activities.
Properly handle and dispose of laboratory hazardous waste.
Monitor gas cylinders.
Share responsibility for maintaining inventory and restocking of general laboratory supplies.
Maintain inventory and restocking of columns, calibration standards, routine maintenance parts/accessories and sample prep materials.
Log chemicals and standards into Chemical Tracker.
Seek opportunities to reduce routine laboratory costs by increased efficiency (higher throughput, decreased cost of supplies).
Execute projects as assigned to meet changing laboratory needs and requirements.
Share responsibility for general laboratory organization and cleanliness.
Communicate relevant work details to Lab Supervisor and coworkers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline; or four (4) years’ experience performing product testing in a dietary supplement, pharmaceutical or food laboratory food.
At least one (1) year of experience using an HPLC, GC, LCMS or ICPMS system or other analytical instrumentation is required.
Experience quantifying vitamin content in food following standard procedures and testing methods is a plus.
Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, materials and the techniques/procedures commonly used in the analysis of food and related products.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
Ability to work in a standard laboratory setting and to use standard office and lab equipment; wear appropriate personal protective equipment; perform moderate physical activity which requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to eight (8) hours per shift and lifting and carrying items weighing 25 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non‑toxic dust.
