What you will do in this role:
Apply appropriate theories and standards for decision-making and actions regarding therapeutic practices.
Assess patient needs considering cultural, religious, and physical disabilities to determine capabilities in groups and with specific activities.
Document patient responses to interventions relevant to treatment on daily or weekly progress reports.
Complete all assessments within designated timeframes, contributing to balanced assessment workloads among therapists.
Develop initial and ongoing treatment programs in accordance with physicians’ or licensed practitioners’ orders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Recreational Therapy (CTRS), Music Therapy (MT-BC), Art Therapy (ATR, ATR-BC, ATR-P, LPAT), or a related field.
Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, is preferred.
Current unencumbered certification/license/registration as per state practice guidelines.
CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days; flexible hours, holidays, and overtime may be required.
