The Inpatient Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, specialized nursing care to patients with cancer and related hematological disorders. This is a crucial role responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a complex patient population. The position is a direct-hire opportunity with a generous sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available. Key Responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, radiation, or post-surgical care. Monitor patient progress, assess for complications (e.g., neutropenia, infection), and intervene appropriately. Administer medications, including chemotherapy and biologics, in accordance with oncology protocols. Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, palliative care, and social work teams. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure safe handling of cytotoxic medications and use of PPE. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families. Follow infection prevention protocols, particularly for immunocompromised patients. Required skills and minimum years of experience.: At least 2 years of oncology or Med/Surg nursing experience. Indiana RN license and Oncology cert preferred.
