Position : Speech Language Pathologist
Role overview : You will provide speech and language therapy services and specialized support that helps students improve their communication and learning skills, making meaningful, measurable improvements for our students.
Responsibilities
Identify students needing specialized speech or language services, instruction, curriculum, activities and classes and support them with solutions that enable them to thrive in a learning environment and achieve academic goals.
Facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities using curriculum-based materials and content and provide progress reports and documentation as needed.
Supervise support staff as needed and consult with fellow educators regarding accommodations, needs, instructional strategies, necessary equipment and support.
Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders.
Create a classroom and learning environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students and allows them to perform at their very best.
Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth for primary school success.
Explore individual needs and provide side-by-side support to discover how each student learns and develop personalized solutions to each student’s learning style and abilities.
Master our proven curriculum, implement our philosophy of education, and guide the learning process toward curriculum goals.
Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on campus, and throughout their lives.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Speech or Speech-Language Pathology.
Current national and state certifications where the position is located (e.g., ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, state licenses as applicable).
Ability to create positive energy that supports school spirit, model values, and engage with students, parents and educators with integrity and compassion.
Willingness to participate in events outside normal hours and travel between campuses as required.
Virtual employees must be located in the state of employment.
