Overview The Physical Therapist - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13 week assignments, with the flexibility to work in various settings. On assignment the Physical Therapist assesses the need for, develops, and delivers physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. They identify the need for and make referrals to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of patients. They implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. In addition, the Physical Therapist instructs, educates and trains patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. They direct activities to promote and maintain health. As necessary or applicable, supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel is provided in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.

This role ensures the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adheres to an established plan of care, department and patient schedule, and timely documentation of services. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings. Makes referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient. Consults with other rehabilitation team members to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen. Adapts program and/or plan of care according to the needs of individual patients. Promotes a safe environment and enforces the elimination of fire and safety hazards. Orders supplies and equipment as necessary. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment. Puts patient service first: ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals\' needs and rights. Screens, examines and evaluates patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures, synthesis information and interprets examination findings to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and the time required to achieve it, identify precautions/contraindications and design and plan of care. Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers, implements the physical therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentation and record keeping regarding these services. Services include but are not limited to: therapeutic techniques such as therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance/coordination, gait and locomotion training, flexibility, strength, endurance), neuromotor development, relaxation, and postural stabilization; functional training; manual therapy; airway clearance techniques; integumentary repair and protection; use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities. Designs and applies adaptive devices, including orthotics and prosthetics, and trains patients in their use. Selects appropriate activities suited to the individual\'s physical and mental capacity. Instructs patients in mobility skills and evaluates progress. Performs routine reexaminations as needed to modify progress of the plan of treatment. Performs other related duties as required. Collaborate with rehabilitation team to select appropriate regimens; adapt plans as needed. Promote a safe environment and enforce safety policies. Order supplies and equipment as necessary; maintain and report equipment needs. Maintain patient service quality, addressing needs and rights of patients and families. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients; interpret findings to guide diagnosis and care plan. Develop treatment goals and implement plans; document all related records. Provide services such as therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, airway techniques, and other modalities as appropriate. Design and fit adaptive devices when needed and train patients in their use (orthotics/prosthetics). Assess and progress patient mobility and rehabilitative potential; update plans as required. Qualifications: Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility. Master\'s degree in Physical Therapy; or Master\'s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor\'s degree in Physical Therapy; or Bachelor\'s degree in Physical Therapy with 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. Availability to travel and temporarily reside outside of the therapist\'s primary home; for degrees earned outside the U.S., the degree must be evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. PT degree. Posted Salary Range: USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
