As a nurse in this department, you will have varying roles including obstetrics triage, screening of walk-ins, guiding patients through routine induction and delivery, monitoring dilation progress, fetal heart rate, and providing updates and support to patients and their partners. To thrive in this role, you must remain calm in emergencies, be sensitive to different circumstances, and understand that routine can vary from day to day. Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water breaking, false alarm, etc. Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage and emergency procedures Educate patients on various interventions or procedures – medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages Assess newborn and provide care Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. Qualifications

Minimum: Experience: One (1) year Labor and Delivery experience preferred Education: ADN, Diploma, or Foreign Equivalent BSN preferred Licensure: AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State. Current BLS Card (American Heart Association Only), Current ACLS Card (or within 6 months of hire), NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
